I must tell you about my pet which my uncle Frank brought me fromCalifornia. It was a dear little horned toad. It was veryaffectionate, and had a soft yellow breast and two horns, one oneach side of its head. I kept it in a big box of sand, and unclecalled it Cutey, it was so cute. One day it was very cold, andCutey shivered so I covered him up in the box, and put him on theregister; then I went off, and forgot my poor little toad. When Icame back my toad was dead, and I cried very hard, for I feltnaughty to have forgotten my pet. I have some more pets, and sometime I will tell you about them; but I am afraid this is too long.
